A specialist defence engineering manufacturer is looking to recruit an NDT Technician on an initial six-month rolling contract.
The role involves carrying out non-destructive testing on welded and fabricated components within a regulated manufacturing environment. Applicants must hold current PCN Level 2 certification and be qualified to conduct visual, magnetic particle and penetrant testing.
The role
Carrying out visual testing, magnetic particle testing and penetrant testing
Inspecting welded and fabricated components against drawings, specifications and acceptance criteria
Producing clear and accurate inspection reports
Identifying, recording and reporting defects or non-conformances
Ensuring testing equipment remains suitable, calibrated and correctly maintained
Working closely with welding, fabrication, quality and production teams
Maintaining material and inspection traceability
Following approved NDT procedures and written instructions
Working in accordance with quality, health and safety requirements
What you’ll need
Current PCN Level 2 qualifications
Certification and practical experience in VT, MT and PT
Previous NDT experience within manufacturing, fabrication or engineering
Experience inspecting welded components and fabricated assemblies
Ability to read engineering drawings and technical specifications
Good understanding of inspection reporting and traceability requirements
Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach
Ability to work independently within the limits of approved procedures
Experience within defence, aerospace, rail, nuclear or another regulated engineering environment would be beneficial.
