Role Description:
The network is undergoing a transformation to integrate new vendors, services, and features. We seek an experienced network engineer familiar with carrier-class vendors and networks to develop and build the future architecture.
As a network engineer, you will be responsible for provisioning, configuring, and maintaining the national network, covering Core, Edge, Access, and NTE/CPE. This multifaceted role involves operations, monitoring, design, and building, encompassing Optical, IP/Routing, and Access technologies, along with OSS systems and security management of services.
Key Responsibilities:
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Provisioning new customer connections.
Providing 3rd line support for technical escalations.
Deploying network upgrades at key POP sites.
Evaluating new technologies and platforms to address customer business challenges and needs.
Implementing technical design solutions as needed.
Testing and deploying new code.
Troubleshooting, diagnosing, and resolving complex network and system issues.
Providing 24/7 rotational on-call coverage for out-of-hours network faults.
About You:
You should possess and demonstrate the following:
Professional-level network vendor qualifications such as CCNP/JNCIP.
Previous experience working in an ISP environment.
Competency in BGP, OSPF, ISIS, and MPLS.
Advanced knowledge of L2/L3 routing and switching protocols.
Understanding of diagnostic tools: Tcpdump, Wireshark, NMAP, Netflow.
Experience with network design workflows and HLD/LLD documentation skills.
Familiarity with network management and monitoring systems.
Experience in configuring, managing, and administering network services (e.g., DHCP, DNS, IP address allocation planning, VPN, RADIUS/TACACS+, Syslog, NTP).
Desirable Skills:
Experience with GPON/XGS-PON and passive network architectures.
Knowledge of optical DWDM/CWDM equipment.
Experience working with Dark Fibre in metro/urban deployments.
Ubiquiti and Mikrotik experience.
Experience managing virtual server environments.
Basic Unix/Linux administration and scripting skills.
Understanding of security frameworks.
Familiarity with firewalls and content filtering management.
