Network Engineer - Global Investment Group

Our client a global, multi-strategy investment firm with over $21 billion in assets under management is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Network Engineer to join its London-based team. This is a hands-on engineering role with exposure to a wide range of technologies, offering the opportunity to shape the infrastructure of a world-class trading environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain a multi-vendor, global network infrastructure.

• Manage firewall systems and enhance network security practices.

• Partner with technology and investment teams to deliver scalable, secure network solutions.

• Conduct network capacity planning and performance tuning.

• Define and enforce network security standards.

• Troubleshoot and resolve complex network and security issues.

• Participate in 24/7 on-call support and out-of-hours maintenance.

• Self-driven and proactive with a strong desire to learn and grow.

• Passionate about network security or automation.

• Able to perform under pressure in a high-stakes, fast-paced environment.

• Comfortable working independently while collaborating across global teams.

• Clear and effective communicator.

• Deep expertise with Palo Alto firewalls and security infrastructure.

• Strong experience in Python, Ansible, Git, and network automation.

• Excellent understanding of network protocols such as BGP, OSPF, PIM, and IGMP.

• Experience with cloud networking, particularly in AWS and Azure.

• Proven ability to troubleshoot advanced networking issues.

• Experience with Cisco Meraki products.

• Familiarity with enterprise voice platforms (e.g., Cisco CUCM, Zoom Phone, WebEx Calling, Cloud9).

• Certifications like PCNSE or CCNP.
