Network Engineer - Insurance

Network Engineer wanted - London 2 days per week. This contract role will be working for a large IT company whilst being based on their clients site who are within the insurance sector.

Day rate of £500 - £520 per day via Umbrella inside IR35

Summary

Design: Create secure network zones using VLANs, subnets, and software-defined networking (SDN).
Policy Enforcement: Write and manage firewall rules, access control lists (ACLs), and micro-segmentation policies.
Traffic Analysis: Monitor data flow to ensure security policies do not break business applications.
Risk Mitigation: Isolate critical assets, IoT devices, and legacy systems from the main corporate network.
Collaboration: Work with security teams to respond to incidents and audit network boundaries.

Essential

5+ years' experience in enterprise network engineering.
Strong understanding of:
TCP/IP networking
Routing and switching
Firewall technologies
Network segmentation and security principles
Application connectivity and traffic analysis
Experience performing application dependency mapping and topology analysis.
Experience producing low-level and high-level network designs.
Experience planning and executing enterprise infrastructure changes.
Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
