New Business Placement Broker

A highly respected commercial insurance broking business is looking for an experienced New Business Placement Broker to join their Manchester team. This is a fantastic opportunity to step into a dynamic, market-facing role where you’ll be at the heart of securing quality placements for a wide range of mid-to-large commercial risks across multiple lines.

You’ll work closely with a network of entrepreneurial brokers and some of the best insurers in the market, with the freedom to shape placement strategies, influence outcomes, and play a key role in driving new business success.

Responsibilities of the New Business Placement Broker:

• Negotiate and place new business across a variety of commercial lines, including property, casualty, and combined risks.
• Build strong, lasting relationships with insurers, brokers, and account executives to deliver the best possible outcomes for clients.
• Offer technical insight and strategic placement support to help broking teams win and retain business.
• Stay ahead of market trends, appetite shifts, and insurer capabilities to identify opportunities and craft tailored solutions.
• Contribute to a collaborative, deal-focused environment where your input and expertise are highly valued.

What we are looking for:

• Solid experience placing commercial risks across multiple lines in the open market.
• Strong knowledge of insurer appetite and the wider commercial insurance landscape.
• Confident negotiator with the ability to handle complex placements and build trusted relationships.
• A proactive, solutions-driven mindset with a passion for securing the best outcomes for clients.
• Ideally, CII qualified or working towards qualification.
