Cover Supervisor | Key Details

• £140-250 per day, depending on experience
• Full-time, term-time only role

• Excellent experience before teacher training
• Work across KS3 and KS4 in a busy secondary school environment

Cover Supervisor | The Role

• Supervise classes when teachers are absent
• Deliver pre-planned lessons and ensure pupils remain on task
• Manage behaviour calmly and consistently in line with school policy
• Support pupils with learning, confidence and classroom routines
• Work closely with teaching staff, pastoral teams and senior leaders
• Provide general classroom support when cover is not required

Cover Supervisor | Candidate Requirements

• Previous Cover Supervisor, tutoring, mentoring, coaching or school-based experience preferred
• Degree desirable but not essential for experienced candidates
• Confident leading a classroom of secondary-aged pupils
• Calm, firm and fair approach to behaviour management
• Strong communication and organisation skills
• Reliable, professional and able to commit consistently
