Deputy Head of Sixth Form - What the Role Involves

• Supporting the Head of Sixth Form in managing day-to-day pastoral care across the sixth form


• Monitoring attendance, punctuality, and behaviour and following up promptly where needed


• Guiding students through UCAS, university applications, and careers planning


• Coordinating enrichment activities, tutor programmes, and sixth form events


• Building trusted relationships with students, parents, and the wider school community

Deputy Head of Sixth Form - What the School is Looking For

The ideal Deputy Head of Sixth Form will hold a 2:1 or 1st Class degree from a top 30 UK university. Previous pastoral, mentoring, or student support experience within a UK school or college is highly valued, with post-16 experience particularly desirable. The school is seeking a confident, organised, and caring Deputy Head of Sixth Form with excellent communication skills and a genuine commitment to young people.

Deputy Head of Sixth Form - Salary and Contract Info

• Up to £600 per week, pro rata to term time only


• Full-time, long-term contract from September 2026 to July 2027


• Term-time only
