Take Technical Ownership of Permanent Modular Projects

Are you an experienced Architectural Technician looking for a role where your drawings genuinely drive construction delivery, not just production output?

This is an opportunity to join a specialist modular construction consultancy delivering permanent modular buildings across public sector projects nationwide.

Working within a small, technically-led team, you will take ownership of drawing packages from concept through to construction issue. This is not a production CAD role. It is a technically accountable position where your coordination decisions directly influence programme, compliance and buildability.

The business operates as Principal Designer and Principal Contractor under CDM regulations and delivers Design & Build modular schemes across education, healthcare, social housing and commercial sectors.

What Makes This Role Different

  • Full lifecycle involvement – concept to construction issue

  • High autonomy and direct Director reporting

  • Lean, technically focused team

  • Permanent modular building projects – not manufacturing detailing

  • Real influence over coordination of foundations, drainage and civils interfaces

You will be trusted to manage your workload independently and deliver accurate, coordinated construction packages aligned to programme.

The Role – Architectural Technician

As Architectural Technician, you will:

  • Produce coordinated GA drawings and full construction drawing packages

  • Develop modular building layouts and optimise configurations

  • Coordinate foundation requirements and drainage interfaces within designs

  • Ensure compliance with UK Building Regulations and CDM requirements

  • Liaise with structural engineers, consultants and local authorities

  • Update drawings in line with site constraints and client feedback

  • Maintain drawing registers and version control documentation

  • Support planning and technical submissions

  • Assist with resolving technical queries during live project delivery

  • Attend site visits and surveys when required

Technical Requirements

To be considered for this Architectural Technician role, you must have:

  • Strong AutoCAD capability

  • Experience producing coordinated GA and construction drawing packages

  • Understanding of UK Building Regulations

  • Experience coordinating foundations, drainage and civils interfaces

  • Confidence working independently within a small team environment

Desirable Experience

  • Modular construction background

  • Architectural consultancy experience

  • Experience operating under CDM framework

  • Revit exposure

  • Experience liaising directly with consultants and local authorities

Working Environment

  • Scarborough town centre office location

  • Office-based role – no hybrid working

  • 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm

  • Small team structure with direct Director reporting

Salary & Benefits

  • £45,000 – £50,000

  • 25 days holiday plus Bank Holidays

  • Company pension scheme

  • Stable pipeline of repeat public sector work

  • Long-term permanent position
