Clinical Lead Nurse – RGN

£60,000 per year | 48 Hours per Week | Supernumerary Position | Complex Nursing Unit

We’re looking for an experienced Clinical Lead Nurse who can step confidently into a complex nursing environment and provide strong clinical leadership from day one.

Supporting individuals with complex health conditions, physical disabilities and acquired brain injuries, you’ll lead a team of Nurses and Healthcare Assistants while remaining hands-on with clinical care. This role requires an RGN with previous Clinical Lead experience within a nursing home, excellent practical nursing skills and the confidence to lead in a demanding clinical setting.

The Experience We’re Looking For

• Registered General Nurse (RGN) with active NMC registration – essential


• Previous Clinical Lead experience within a nursing home – essential


• Strong experience leading Nurses and Healthcare Assistants


• Excellent clinical assessment and decision-making skills


• Experience supporting individuals with complex nursing needs


• Strong knowledge of safeguarding, infection control and clinical governance


• Confidence with care planning, medication management and risk assessments


• Strong practical clinical skills, including PEG care, catheters, venepuncture, syringe drivers and wound care


• A confident, calm and organised leadership style

Hours & Benefits

• £60,000 per year

• Days – mixture of long and short shifts

Providing Clinical Leadership

• Lead clinical standards across the complex nursing unit


• Provide visible, hands-on leadership to Nurses and Healthcare Assistants


• Assess and respond to residents’ changing and complex clinical needs


• Oversee care plans, medication management and clinical documentation


• Provide clinical guidance and support during complex situations


• Coach and develop nursing and care colleagues


• Maintain high standards across safeguarding, infection prevention and clinical governance


• Liaise with families, GPs and other healthcare professionals
