Customs Agent / Specialist

Near Tonbridge, Kent (Office-based)

Up to £30,000 per annum + Excellent Benefits

Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (1-in-6 Weekend Rota)

We are recruiting for an established and rapidly expanding customs agency within the fresh produce and FMCG sector near Tonbridge, Kent. Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and submit customs declarations and associated pre-notifications for clients and group operations.


• Proactively manage customs holds on consignments to ensure the timely release of time-critical, perishable goods.


• Act as a key liaison with third parties including HMRC, APHA, port authorities, inland border facilities, and hauliers.


• Ensure accurate application of Customs Procedure Codes (CPCs) and compliance for controlled goods subject to sanitary and phytosanitary (SPS) controls.

Your Skills & Experience

• Demonstrable experience within customs, logistics, or supply chain, ideally in an FMCG or perishable goods setting.


• Hands-on experience or familiarity with UK customs software (e.g., CDS, CNS, Destin8, Sequoia).


• Understanding of CPCs, specialist customs procedures, and SPS controls.


• Strong proficiency in MS Excel, exceptionally detail-oriented, and able to multitask under pressure.


• A Level 3 certificate from the UK Customs Academy or Institute of Export is desirable.
