Job Description - New Job Opening: Deputy Nursery Manager in Paint Pots

Job Description

Deputy Nursery Manager

From £28,500 per year | 40 Hours per Week

For children to feel confident enough to explore, they first need somewhere they feel safe, settled and completely at home.

This welcoming nursery has created a genuine home-from-home environment, where children are encouraged to follow their interests, build their independence and discover the world around them at their own pace. The nursery also benefits from a large garden, giving children plenty of opportunities to take their learning outdoors, stay active and explore through hands-on experiences.

As Deputy Nursery Manager, you’ll work closely with the Nursery Manager while remaining involved in everyday nursery life – supporting the team, maintaining high standards and helping create a positive environment for both children and practitioners.

What We’re Looking For

  • A full and relevant Level 3 Early Years qualification or above

  • Previous senior Early Years experience – essential

  • Experience as a Deputy Manager, Room Leader, Third in Charge or Senior Practitioner would be beneficial

  • Strong knowledge of the EYFS, safeguarding and child development

  • Confidence leading, supporting and motivating practitioners

  • Good understanding of Ofsted requirements and Early Years best practice

  • Strong organisation and communication skills

  • A warm, hands-on approach to leadership

  • A passion for creating nurturing environments where children can explore and develop independently

What You’ll Receive

  • Salary up to £28,500

  • 40 hours per week

  • Discounted childcare

  • On-site parking

  • Pension scheme

  • Wellbeing programme

Your Role

  • Support the Nursery Manager with the day-to-day running of the setting

  • Lead, guide and support practitioners across the nursery

  • Help maintain consistently high standards of care and Early Years education

  • Support the delivery of the EYFS and high-quality learning experiences

  • Oversee staff deployment, ratios and daily routines

  • Encourage the team to make the most of the nursery’s large outdoor garden

  • Support children's confidence, independence and individual development

  • Maintain high standards of safeguarding, health and safety, and compliance

  • Build positive relationships with children and their families

  • Provide confident leadership in the Nursery Manager’s absence

All appointments are subject to safer recruitment requirements, including an enhanced DBS check, satisfactory references, and verification of the right to work in the UK, in line with safeguarding responsibilities.
