We are seeking a specialised and experienced HMO Licensing Manager to oversee property compliance, licensing, and safety standards while leading a small team. The perfect candidate will ensure operational excellence within a busy lettings portfolio.

Our client, a respected residential property group in Hendon, is looking for a proactive and knowledgeable HMO Licensing Manager.

This position is central to maintaining compliance across their lettings portfolio, ensuring all properties meet current licensing and safety regulations. You’ll manage a small team of Property Managers and work closely with internal departments to deliver a high standard of service to landlords and tenants alike. 

What You'll Be Doing (Key Responsibilities):

• Audit properties to identify and manage HMO licensing requirements


• Oversee safety checks, certificates, and remedial works


• Manage and support a team of Property Managers


• Liaise with tenants, landlords, and contractors to ensure smooth operations


• Coordinate maintenance, repairs, and post-work inspections


• Handle deposit returns and ensure adherence to tenancy regulations


• Manage rental arrears and resolve tenant/landlord disputes


• Instruct and oversee eviction requests when required


• Monitor team performance and conduct regular one-to-one reviews


• Maintain company compliance with relevant legislation and industry standards 

What We're Looking For (Skills & Experience):

• Strong understanding of HMO licensing processes and compliance requirements


• Proven experience in property management or lettings, ideally within an HMO environment


• Confident communicator with excellent organisational and leadership skills


• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver consistent results


• Customer-focused mindset with a problem-solving approach


• Proficiency with property management software (experience with Qube advantageous, though training can be provided)
