Nursing Home Manager

Up to £65,000 per year + Bonus Scheme

40 Hours per Week

This is a role for an experienced Nursing Home Manager who can step into an established service, quickly understand what it needs and provide confident, consistent leadership from the outset.

Set in a beautiful location, the home provides high-quality residential, nursing and dementia care for older adults. There is a strong support structure around the service, but the home needs a Manager who can take genuine ownership of its day-to-day performance and provide the stability and direction needed for the long term.

Ideally, you’ll be RGN or RMN qualified, although an exceptional non-nurse Manager with a Level 5 qualification in Health & Social Care and a strong track record of successfully managing a nursing home will also be considered.

We’re looking for someone who understands the full responsibility of running a nursing service – from CQC, compliance and governance to staffing, occupancy and financial performance – and who can balance strong operational management with a genuine focus on residents and quality of care.

What We’re Looking For

• Proven Nursing Home Manager experience – essential


• Ideally RGN or RMN qualified with an active NMC registration


• Exceptional non-nurse Managers with a Level 5 Health & Social Care qualification and significant nursing home management experience will be considered


• Previous experience successfully managing a home through CQC inspections


• Excellent knowledge of compliance, clinical governance, safeguarding and quality assurance


• Confidence identifying areas for improvement and putting effective action plans in place


• Experience developing and retaining successful teams


• Good business acumen, with an understanding of budgets, occupancy, staffing and the wider performance of a nursing home


• A commitment to providing stable, long-term leadership for the home


• Full driving licence and access to a car – essential

Taking Ownership of the Home

• Take overall responsibility for the successful clinical, operational and financial performance of the nursing home


• Provide strong and consistent leadership across nursing, care and support teams


• Ensure the home remains compliant with CQC and wider regulatory requirements


• Lead preparation for CQC inspections and respond effectively to regulatory feedback


• Maintain robust systems around clinical governance, audits, safeguarding and risk management


• Monitor quality and identify opportunities for continuous improvement


• Oversee recruitment, staffing, retention and team performance


• Develop managers and senior colleagues to create a strong leadership structure within the home


• Manage budgets and resources effectively


• Maintain a clear focus on occupancy and the sustainable performance of the service


• Build strong relationships with residents, families and external professionals


• Ensure residents receive consistently safe, personalised and compassionate care
