Nursing Home Manager – Nurse Qualified

£50,000–£55,000 per year | Good CQC

This Good CQC-rated, purpose-built nursing home supports older adults, including those living with dementia. The home has been specifically designed around residents’ changing needs, providing a comfortable and supportive environment where safety, dignity and quality of life remain central to everyday care.

We’re looking for a confident, nurse-qualified Nursing Home Manager with previous management experience who can take ownership of the service. Alongside strong clinical and regulatory knowledge, you’ll need to be particularly confident with the business side of running a nursing home, including occupancy, budgets, staffing and the overall performance of the service.

What We’re Looking For

• RGN or RMN qualification with an active NMC registration – essential


• Previous nursing home management experience – essential


• Strong experience supporting older adults and people living with dementia


• Good knowledge of CQC regulations, safeguarding and clinical governance


• Previous experience with CQC inspections and maintaining positive regulatory outcomes


• A confident leadership style with the ability to make decisions and take ownership


• Strong business acumen and an understanding of the financial performance of a care home


• Experience managing budgets, staffing costs and resources


• Confidence driving and maintaining healthy occupancy levels


• Ability to build relationships with local professionals, commissioners, families and potential residents

Leading the Home

• Take overall responsibility for the clinical, operational and financial performance of the nursing home


• Maintain and build upon the home’s Good CQC standards


• Lead, motivate and develop nursing, care and support teams


• Ensure residents receive consistently safe, compassionate and person-centred care


• Maintain robust standards across compliance, safeguarding and clinical governance


• Oversee staffing, recruitment, retention and team performance


• Manage budgets and resources effectively


• Monitor occupancy and take an active role in supporting the continued success of the home


• Build strong relationships with prospective residents, families and external professionals


• Use audits, feedback and performance information to identify areas for improvement


• Ensure the purpose-built environment continues to meet residents’ individual and changing needs
