The Opportunity
In this engaging fee-earning role, you will take direct responsibility for managing a diverse portfolio of SMEs, limited companies, and partnerships across South Yorkshire. Delivering a complete range of financial services—from statutory accounts and management reporting to personal/corporate tax compliance—you will act as a primary client contact while mentoring and reviewing the work of junior colleagues. Positioned within an expanding firm with cross-departmental strength, this role offers a clear, structured platform for long-term career progression to Client Manager.
Key Responsibilities & Requirements
Qualifications & Experience: ACA or ACCA qualified (or finalist/part-qualified expecting to qualify within 12–18 months) with 3+ years’ UK accountancy practice experience.
Portfolio & Client Management: Proven ability to manage a mixed client portfolio, conduct client meetings, and build strong relationships with company directors and business owners.
Technical Accounting & Tax: Hands-on experience preparing and reviewing complex statutory accounts, management accounts, partnership accounts, personal tax returns, and VAT submissions.
Software Proficiency: Strong working knowledge of accounts preparation software (ideally IRIS) alongside cloud accounting platforms (Xero, Sage, or QuickBooks) and MS Office 365/Excel.
Team Leadership: Experience allocating duties, conducting work reviews, and training junior staff members to ensure quality control across the team.
Package & Benefits
Base Salary: £38,000 – £46,000 per annum (dependent on qualification status and practice experience, aligned with Sheffield market rates).
