Senior National Account Manager – Food Manufacturing

Location: South-East England / Hybrid
Contract: Permanent
Salary: £65,000–£75,000 + bonus

This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious Senior National Account Manager to take responsibility for major UK retail customers and play a key role in the continued growth of an established food business.

You will have genuine ownership across sales, P&L, margin and profitability. Rather than simply maintaining existing accounts, you will have the freedom to shape customer strategy, lead negotiations, win new business and find new ways to drive growth.

Our client is an established food manufacturer supplying major UK retailers across branded and own-label products. The business is continuing to grow and is investing in both its commercial team and the people within it.

You will work closely with senior leadership, giving you the opportunity to influence commercial decisions, put forward your own ideas and see the impact of your work across the wider business.

There is also a real focus on developing people internally, making this an excellent opportunity for someone who wants significant responsibility now while continuing to progress their commercial career.

Key Responsibilities

  Take ownership of key national retail customers and develop long-term relationships.

  Create and deliver account strategies and Joint Business Plans.

  Drive sales, profit and year-on-year growth across your accounts.

  Lead customer negotiations across pricing, promotions and trading terms.

  Identify and win new business and account growth opportunities.

  
  


• 
  

  Take ownership of customer P&L, margin and profitability.

  
  


• 
  

  Manage forecasting and identify opportunities to improve commercial performance.

  
  


• 
  

  Drive new listings, range development and product opportunities.

  Work closely with senior leadership and teams across the wider business.

  
  

Candidate Requirements

• 
  

  Proven National Account Management experience within food manufacturing or FMCG.

  
  


• 
  

  Experience working with major UK grocery or retail customers.

  
  


• 
  

  A strong track record of growing accounts and delivering sales and profit growth.

  
  


• 
  

  Experience winning new business and leading customer negotiations.

  
  


• 
  

  Strong commercial understanding across P&L, margin and forecasting.

  
  


• 
  

  Confident building and influencing senior customer relationships.

  
  


• 
  

  Ambitious, commercially driven and looking to continue progressing your career.

  Full UK driving licence.

You will enjoy taking ownership, spotting opportunities and turning them into commercial results. You will be equally comfortable building senior customer relationships as you are getting into the detail of P&L, margin, forecasting and account performance.
