Senior Technical Account Manager

Location: Llanelli, Carmarthenshire - Dyfed

Overview

We are looking for a committed, dedicated and experienced Senior Technical Account Manager to join a well-established food manufacturing business operating within the red meat sector.

This management position offers an opportunity to work within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. You will work alongside experienced Technical Account Managers and have responsibility for supporting and developing a direct report, helping to build their knowledge and capabilities within the industry.

You will collaborate closely with Production, Sales, Quality Assurance and other cross-functional teams to deliver exceptional customer service and effective, innovative solutions.

Responsibilities

• Support and develop Technical Account Managers in managing customer accounts, understanding customer requirements and ensuring consistently high standards throughout supply and processing.

• Lead client onboarding, including initial product setup, explaining relevant processing technologies and delivering tailored training in line with industry requirements.

• Respond quickly and effectively to client queries and troubleshoot technical issues relating to red meat products, processing, food safety and compliance, escalating complex matters to senior technical management where appropriate.

• Manage customer account reviews, compiling weekly and monthly data covering production performance, product quality, compliance metrics and customer feedback.

• Maintain accurate and detailed records of client interactions, product issues, corrective actions and resolutions.

• Work effectively across departments, collaborating with Sales, Product Development, Engineering and Quality Assurance teams to provide sector-specific solutions and maintain high levels of customer satisfaction.

• Take initiative and remain informed about developments in meat-processing technologies, industry regulations, food safety, animal welfare standards and wider trends affecting the red meat sector.

• Support the development of technical team members, promoting high standards of customer service, technical knowledge and compliance.

Qualifications & Experience

• Experience in customer relationship or account management within the manufacturing industry

• Previous experience in a customer-facing or technical role within the food/pharmaceutical sector is essential.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a strong customer-focused approach.

• Strong problem-solving capabilities and the ability to take initiative when addressing industry-specific challenges.

• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.

• Strong organisational skills and excellent attention to detail, particularly in relation to compliance and quality assurance.

• A bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Animal Science, Business, Meat Technology or a related discipline would be advantageous but is not essential.

Working Hours & Benefits

Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am–5:00pm, site-based.

Annual Leave: 31 days.
