Are you an experienced Technical Manager ready to step into a senior leadership role with genuine influence across a food manufacturing operation?
We are recruiting a Senior Technical Manager for an established food manufacturer in West Yorkshire. Joining the Senior Leadership Team and reporting directly to the Site Director, you will take responsibility for the Technical and Hygiene functions across two sites, leading the technical strategy while remaining close enough to the operation to make a real impact.
This is an excellent opportunity for an established Senior Technical Manager or a strong Site Technical Manager looking to take the next step into a broader, multi-site position.
Leading the Technical and Hygiene functions across two manufacturing sites
Driving food safety, quality, legality and technical standards across the operation
Ensuring compliance with legislative, retailer, customer and third-party requirements
Leading customer visits, retailer audits and third-party audits
Acting as a senior technical contact for key retail customers
Using technical KPIs and data to identify risks and drive continuous improvement
Working closely with Operations, Production, NPD, Engineering, Planning and Hygiene
Developing and mentoring the Technical and Hygiene teams, building capability and succession
Influencing technical strategy and standards as part of the Senior Leadership Team
Maintaining a visible, practical presence across the operation and supporting the team when required
You'll be a credible and confident technical leader with experience gained within food manufacturing and the ability to balance strategic leadership with a practical approach.
Ideally, you'll have:
Senior Technical Manager, Site Technical Manager or comparable technical leadership experience
Strong exposure to UK retailer standards and major retail customer requirements
Experience leading and developing Technical, Quality and/or Hygiene teams
Strong audit and customer-facing experience
Advanced Food Safety Level 4
Advanced HACCP
A food-related degree or equivalent industry experience
Strong communication, leadership and influencing skills
A continuous improvement mindset and the ability to challenge and raise standards
Experience within meat or protein manufacturing would be highly advantageous, although broader food manufacturing experience will be considered.
