Product Design Technology Teacher – Temporary – Immediate Start

Are you a passionate and creative Product Design Technology Teacher looking for an exciting new opportunity? Or are you a strong graduate with a 2:1 or First Class degree in Product Design, Design Technology, Engineering or a closely related subject, looking to take your first step into teaching?

We are seeking an enthusiastic Product Design Technology Teacher to join a supportive and ambitious secondary school on a temporary basis, starting ASAP.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Product Design Technology Teacher to join a well-established Design Technology curriculum, or for a talented graduate to gain valuable classroom experience within a supportive school environment.

The Role – Product Design Technology Teacher

The successful Product Design Technology Teacher will:

• Plan and deliver engaging Product Design and Design Technology lessons, inspiring students to develop their creativity, technical knowledge and practical skills.


• Guide students through the full design process, from research and initial ideas through to designing, making, evaluating and refining high-quality products and prototypes.


• Develop students’ understanding of materials, components, manufacturing processes and emerging technologies, including effective use of sketches, modelling and digital presentations.


• Create a positive, purposeful and inclusive learning environment, maintaining high expectations for behaviour, progress and achievement.


• Work collaboratively with colleagues to support an ambitious curriculum, share best practice and contribute to the continued development of the department.

Who We Are Looking For

We are keen to hear from:

• An experienced Product Design Technology Teacher with strong subject knowledge.


• An Early Career Teacher looking to develop their career in a supportive environment.


• A Product Design Technology Teacher with experience teaching at KS3 and/or KS4.


• A graduate with a 2:1 or First Class degree in Product Design, Design Technology, Engineering, Manufacturing, 3D Design or another relevant discipline.


• A candidate with strong practical and technical knowledge who is passionate about helping young people develop their skills.


• Someone who can engage, motivate and inspire students through practical and creative learning.
