Job Title: New Product Development Manager Location: Leeds Overview: We are looking for a Product Development Manager to drive strategic competitiveness, positioning, and portfolio management within my client’s product team.
In this role, you'll identify opportunities for product renovation and new product development.
Under the direction of the Associate Director of Product and Business Development, you'll collect consumer insights, conduct analysis, develop business cases, and manage project delivery from concept to market launch.

Essential Functions: Market & Competitor Analysis: Analyse competitor activities, pricing strategies, product offerings, and market positioning to discern trends, customer preferences, and commercial opportunities.
Consumer Research: Plan and analyse consumer research, including studies, surveys, focus groups, and interviews, to understand buying habits, preferences, and behaviours and evaluate product concepts.
Product Development: Own and lead multiple NPD projects to ensure the delivery of projects on time, to budget and specification.
Ensure all project documentation is in place for New Product Development (NPD) projects to progress through development stages, substantiate claims and satisfy regulatory requirements Report Generation: Create reports, presentations, and visualizations to effectively communicate insights and recommendations to stakeholders.
Collaboration: Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with internal stakeholders (Marketing, Sales, Graphic Design, & Packaging) to achieve project goals.
Requirements: Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Materials Science, Engineering, Biological sciences, or similar Minimum 5 years’ experience in FMCG, Healthcare, or Medical Device product development Desire to learn, develop and grow within the team Strong presentation and networking skills; both internally and externally Skills: Strong organisational and project management skills.
Analytical and critical thinking skills for data-led decisions.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and Power Point.
Technical writing skills for documentation.
Ability to interpret data and present insights to non-technical stakeholders.
Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Collaborative mindset for cross-functional teamwork.
