Selecta is the largest provider of unattended self-serve coffee and convenience food in Europe, leading the way in vending solutions and specialist coffee services. Within the UK we deliver a national service, relied on and trusted by circa 3,500 businesses to serve tasty beverages and snacks at a variety of locations from workplaces to schools, universities and hospitals and everywhere in-between. Our engineers are critical to the operating of our business, ensuring that our machines are well maintained and in working order, so that we can continuously delight our customers.

The Role

As a NHS Trolley Engineer, you are responsible for ensuring the Service Trolleys provided by Selecta in NHS hospitals are serviced and maintained to a very high standard to enable provision of the on site mobile hot drinks dispensing service.

Your role requires a high degree of autonomy - you will be responsible for several hundred trolleys across a number of NHS estates in a significant geographical area - some of your work will be scheduled for you, but you are expected to prioritise according to client needs. We support some of the world’s leading and best known coffee and food brands, so interacting with clients and presenting a positive image of the company and its products is essential. In addition, you will:

  • Carry out emergency repairs to any machine, including carrying out 'component level’ repairs on an electrical and mechanical basis
  • Carry out preventative maintenance on our machines in your own geographical patch and beyond
  • Fully install and commission new equipment within our range
  • Manage a parts stock effectively to minimise costs
  • Must have strong electrical knowledge/experience – demonstrated through practical work experience or an electrical qualification
  • A full UK driving licence with at least 12 months driving experience and no more than 6 points is essential
  • Have a technical background with strong fault finding and diagnosis skills
  • Be aware of how to work safely on electrical equipment
  • Knowledge of basic food hygiene and water regulations beneficial but not essential
  • Be client-focused with a smart and professional appearance

Candidates with technical maintenance experience from the following industries may be suitable: print production, office equipment, gaming and leisure, motor vehicle, medical, catering or white goods, ATM and cash machines. If you have merchandising experience within the vending industry we can assess your suitability to be trained to engineer standard.

In line with the Immigration, Nationality and Asylum Act, all applicants will be expected to provide proof of eligibility to work in the UK if invited to interview. Selecta UK recognises the benefits of a diverse workforce and we therefore welcome applications from all backgrounds and all sections of the community.

Documented proof of right to work in the UK must also be provided if successful and progress to interview.
