Food Retail Distribution (Head Office in Plymouth)

DK Recruitment are working with a leading national food retail business, headquartered in Plymouth, to recruit a Night Shift Supervisor for their busy Avonmouth distribution site.
This role is critical to the overnight operation, ensuring the smooth processing of goods for timely delivery. You’ll be leading teams of Loaders, Sorters, and Drivers in a fast-paced environment where strong leadership and operational know-how are key.
?? Key Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise a team of up to 50 night shift colleagues
• Drive performance to meet service levels and delivery deadlines
• Ensure compliance with H&S regulations and company policies
• Brief and debrief drivers and warehouse staff
• Monitor operational performance and produce BI/MI reports
• Support the Night Shift Manager with project work and daily operations

? What We’re Looking For

• Proven experience managing or supervising teams (ideally in logistics, warehousing, or FMCG)
• A hands-on leader who thrives in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
• Ability to think laterally and resolve challenges on the spot
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (especially Excel, Word, Outlook)
• Understanding of transport or warehouse regulations is advantageous
