The Role and About You

This is a hands-on, physically active night shift role where you will be responsible for ensuring trains are cleaned to a high standard and ready for passenger service. Based at Wigan Springs Branch Depot, you will carry out full interior cleans of trains, including cleaning seating areas, floors, and toilets, using specialist cleaning equipment such as mops, vacuums, cloths, and cleaning solutions.

The role requires attention to detail, consistency, and the ability to work efficiently as part of a team in a busy depot environment. You will play an important role in ensuring trains are presented in a clean, safe, and comfortable condition for passengers.

The role operates on a 4 days on, 4 days off shift pattern, with shifts running from 20:00pm to 06:00am. Flexibility is important, including the ability to work nights and rostered weekends consistently.

This role would suit someone with previous experience in cleaning environments such as rail, buses, aircraft, industrial settings, or housekeeping, although full training will be provided. If you are reliable, hard-working, and comfortable carrying out manual duties throughout your shift, this role could be a great opportunity to build experience within the rail industry.
