NPD Technologist (12 Month FTC)

Are you an experienced NPD Technologist with a background working in retail NPD? This is an exciting, exclusive opportunity to join a specialist retailer supplying an extensive network of farm shops, working across a diverse range of food categories.

The business has a strong presence across the retail food market, supplying quality products across meat, ambient and fresh fruit and vegetable categories. They are now looking for an NPD Technologist to join their team on a 12-month fixed-term contract, providing maternity cover.

The Role

Working closely with internal teams and suppliers, you will play an important role in developing and managing products across the business's varied food categories. You'll help bring new products to market, ensuring they meet customer expectations, quality standards and commercial requirements.

Key responsibilities will include:

Supporting the development and launch of new products across meat, ambient and fresh produce categories.

Managing NPD projects from initial concept through to launch, ensuring timelines and critical paths are achieved.

Working closely with suppliers and internal stakeholders to develop and improve product ranges.

Coordinating product samples, tastings and product evaluations.

Monitoring product quality, consistency and compliance throughout the development process.

Identifying opportunities for product innovation and range improvements.

About You

To be considered for this opportunity, you will ideally have:

Previous experience working in an NPD role within a retail environment - this is essential.

Experience developing food products across one or more relevant categories, ideally meat, ambient or fresh produce.

A good understanding of the retail product development process and the requirements of bringing products to market.

Strong project management and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.

Excellent communication skills and the confidence to work with suppliers and internal stakeholders.

A proactive, hands-on approach with a genuine passion for food and product development.
