NPI Engineer Location: High Wycombe Salary: £40,000 - £45,000 per annum
I’m currently recruiting for an exciting opportunity with a global engineering and industrial supplier who are looking to appoint an experienced NPI Engineer to join their team in High Wycombe.
This is a great opportunity for an engineer with a strong understanding of New Product Introduction, technical drawings, engineering materials and supplier/customer quality to take ownership of the product introduction process and play a key role in bringing new products into the business.
You’ll work closely with internal teams, suppliers and customers, helping to ensure products meet the required technical, quality and commercial standards from initial introduction through to approval.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee the New Product Introduction (NPI) process from initial introduction through to product approval. Ensure all new product introduction data is accurately captured and maintained within the relevant systems. Coordinate cross-functional reviews, ensuring they are completed accurately and within agreed timescales. Manage and oversee the sample approval process. Review technical drawings, specifications and product requirements. Carry out product testing and analysis, including dimensional and visual inspection. Collate technical and quality data to support product approval. Support the business in resolving product and technical issues arising from RFQs. Work closely with Sales, Sourcing, Replenishment and suppliers to resolve technical and product-related issues. Provide technical support and data to the Sales team. Liaise directly with customers and suppliers to resolve product queries and improve overall satisfaction. Ensure internal and external stakeholders are kept informed throughout the product introduction and approval process.About You
We’re looking for someone with a strong technical and engineering background who is comfortable working across NPI, product introduction, suppliers, customers and internal stakeholders.
Experience within an NPI, Process Engineering, Quality Engineering or similar technical engineering position. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and engineering specifications. Good understanding of engineering materials, including steel, stainless steel, brass and similar materials. Understanding of international engineering standards such as ISO, EN, DIN and ASTM. Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to technical information. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with customers, suppliers and internal teams.
