Children’s Nurse / Nurse Associate Job. Petersfield. GU31 / GU32

Full Time exciting opportunity for a professional Nurse / Nurse Associate to support a boy aged 12 years old. Care provided within school and family home located in Petersfield.

The boy has recently been diagnosed with type one diabetes and requires professional support throughout the school day and support at home.

This full time position is structured over

3 weekdays - full days 8:15am until 5:30pm

Every Saturday – full day (8-12 hours shifts)

One Saturday overnight a month

Two waking nights per a month

You will support his medical condition, recording the days activities/ food intake, checking sugar levels, ensuring his wellbeing throughout the school day and offering medical support should a hypo occur.

School care is over the three weekdays and Saturday mornings. You will feel confident being a discrete supportive adult who is physically fit and comfortable supporting physical sports and activities.

During home care you will provide waking night supporting his medical needs throughout the night. You will provide care at home on Saturday afternoons and for half of the school holidays (hours to be agreed in advance) providing a fun age appropriate day.

You must hold previous experience supporting children / young people with medical conditions, you will be relevantly qualified and experienced to offer full medical support to a child with diabetes with a clear understanding of the condition. Paediatric nurse qualifications are ideal, however extensive relevant professional experience working as a nurse associate / medical professional considered. Nanny experience preferred but not essential. Checkable relevant career history is essential. Clear DBS check essential. Right to work essential.
