Opportunity for a Cook also looking for working in the classroom and complete a Level 3 in Childcare.

This is a permanent position, full-time 38 hours per week, Monday to Friday.

Salary: £26,000 (salary progression once you complete the Level 3)

Holiday: 7 weeks of paid holiday

Les Petites Etoiles Nurseries is a group of 5 private bilingual nurseries located across North London. Our nurseries are situated in the vibrant neighbourhoods of Angel, Crouch Hill, Paddington, Tufnell Park, and West Hampstead. Job Role

We are looking to hire an experienced nursery cook who will work across all our 5 locations to cover the main nursery chefs when they are on annual/sick leave. The right candidate will be based in Tufnell Park and will require some childcare experience to cover in the classrooms when necessary.

This is a full-time permanent position. As a Cook, you will be solely responsible for the day-to-day running of the kitchen. This will include the preparation of an entirely organic set menu plan (provided by the school) which consists of a morning snack (chopped fruit), preparation of lunch and an afternoon snack (varying from smoothies to sandwiches).

As a Classroom Assistant, you will be working across all rooms where ages range from 6 months to 4 years. You will support the room leaders and team within the rooms, giving you great experience as a practitioner and enhancing your development. Once you complete the probation period sucessfuly, we will enroll you on a Level 3 qualification in Childcare!

Ideally, you will have the following:

• Experience preparing food for large numbers of children and or adults.

• Level 2 Food Hygiene certificate or above

• Food Allergen Awareness

• At least one year of childcare experience

• Health & Safety and safeguarding practices

Responsibilities as Nursery Cook

• Maintaining high hygiene standards to ensure a safe working environment following Food Standard Agency/ Environmental Health guidelines.

• Prepare a balanced rotating menu considering the children's dietary and cultural requirements.

• Maintaining necessary kitchen procedures and records.

• To undertake any other reasonable catering duties as requested by the Nursery Manager.

• Ensure all crockery, cutlery and cooking utensils are washed following food safety guidelines.

• Ensure that all foods are ready at the specified time and correctly served.

• To implement and maintain the company’s equal opportunities policy, ensuring that children, parents and the staff team are valued, and practice is positive and non-discriminatory.

Responsibilities as Classroom Assistant

The chosen candidate will be responsible for caring for the children, supervising their daily activities, and organising and preparing activities and materials.
