Protocol Education is recruiting confident and passionate Nursery Leads to support nursery settings, Nursery classes and Reception environments across local schools in Pontefract.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Early Years professional who enjoys taking responsibility for a setting or room, supporting a team and creating a high-quality learning environment for young children.

The Role

As a Nursery Lead, you will play an important role in the day-to-day running of the nursery or Early Years provision, ensuring children receive a safe, engaging and nurturing experience.

Your responsibilities may include:

Leading the day-to-day running of the nursery or allocated room
Supporting and guiding Early Years Practitioners and Teaching Assistants
Planning and delivering engaging EYFS activities
Supporting children's learning and development through play
Monitoring children's progress and identifying areas for development
Supporting the delivery of the EYFS framework
Developing strong relationships with children, parents and carers
Supporting children with SEND and additional needs
Promoting positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing
Ensuring safeguarding procedures are followed consistently
Maintaining a safe, stimulating and inclusive learning environment
Working closely with teachers, senior leaders and other Early Years staff
Supporting observations, assessments and children's learning journeys

About You

We’re looking for candidates who:

Have previous experience working in an EYFS or nursery setting
Have experience in a senior, lead or supervisory Early Years role
Have a strong understanding of the EYFS framework and child development
Are confident leading a team and managing day-to-day responsibilities
Are passionate about providing high-quality Early Years education
Can build strong relationships with children, colleagues and families
Have experience supporting children with SEND
Have a strong understanding of safeguarding
Are organised, reliable and adaptable
Hold a relevant Level 3 Early Years qualification or equivalent where required
