Nursery Practitioner

Full time, All Year, 37.5 hrs

Salary: £24,375 - £25,838

We are seeking a Level 2/3 Practitioner for a preschool that has a passion for fostering creative learning styles that challenge children’s way of thinking. With over 45 years experience of providing high quality & affordable child care, the nursery offers the very best facilities & parental support for children aged 0-11 years-from a large modern purpose built centre in Croydon. The nursery practitioners aim is to stimulate children’s imagination, discovery and creativity by extending classroom teachings into the everyday outside environment.

Duties:

• Support and encourage children to make their own choices, empowering them to be independent learners for when outside of preschool
• Observe, analyse and create progress reports in relation to the Early Years Foundation Stage
• Respond to each child’s emerging needs and interests via clear and concise communication
• Encourage children to communicate daily through warm and positive interactions
• Planning and guiding children’s activities by reflecting on the ways different children learn and practice
• Promote social time by interacting with other children during lunch and play breaks
• Observe children’s behaviour and progress when performing activities and report back to parents regarding any development and concerns
• Ensure that work is carried out in line with all relevant statutory children's legislation and comply with Ofsted standards and registration

Requirements:

• Level 2/3
• Minimum of 1-2 years of Early Years childcare experience
• Confident verbal and non-verbal communication skills
• Ability to work as part of a team and adapt to a dynamic, child-centred environment
• Fully enhanced DBS
• Up to date CV
