Nursery - Room Leader

We are excited to announce that Reed is working in partnership with local nurseries in the Tiverton and Exeter Areas to recruit Nursery Room Leaders. This role is crucial in the education and social development of babies and young children up to the age of five. As a Nursery Room Leader, you will create a safe and nurturing environment for children to learn and grow, design age-appropriate activities that foster social, emotional, and cognitive development, and lead a team of nursery staff.

Day-to-day of the role:

• Ensuring the provision of a high-quality environment that meets the needs of each individual child.
• Design and implement age-appropriate play activities that encourage children's social, emotional, and cognitive development.
• Support learning and care, maintaining detailed records of children’s progress.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with parents and carers.
• Provide leadership and support to other nursery staff.
• Ensure compliance with EYFS, SEN code of practice, OFSTED national standards, and all relevant policies.
• Flexibility within working practices of the setting, undertaking other duties where needed, such as domestic tasks, preparation of snack meals, cleansing of equipment, etc.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• NVQ Level 3 Qualified, CCLD, NNEB, CACHE, or equivalent.
• Proven experience in implementing the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).
• Demonstrable ability to lead a team of staff within a nursery setting.
• A thorough understanding of the EYFS (and be able to demonstrate this at the interview).
• Clear understanding of safeguarding and child protection.
• Strong ICT, numeracy, and literacy skills.
• A great personality with ambition, drive, and a willingness to learn.
