Claires Court has an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and qualified Nursery Room Leader to join our experienced Early Years team.

Based at The Thicket in Maidenhead, you will work with children aged two to four in a new nursery setting surrounded by beautiful grounds alongside our Junior School.

The Role

As Nursery Room Leader, you will take responsibility for the day-to-day running of your room. You will ensure children receive consistently high-quality care while creating a safe, welcoming and stimulating environment in which they can learn, develop and thrive.

You will lead and support your staff team, organise resources effectively and build positive relationships with children, parents, carers and colleagues.

Your responsibilities will include:

Leading the day-to-day operation of your nursery room
Deploying staff and resources effectively while maintaining appropriate ratios
Planning and delivering stimulating, age-appropriate activities
Creating a welcoming, inclusive and creatively presented learning environment
Tailoring routines and activities to meet each child’s individual needs
Developing positive and appropriate bonds with your key children
Taking responsibility for the welfare of all children within your room
Leading observations and maintaining accurate development records, including through the Evidence Me app
Supporting, coaching and developing other members of the nursery team
Identifying training needs and opportunities for continuous improvement
Building trusted relationships with parents and carers
Following all safeguarding, child protection, health and safety and GDPR requirements
About You

We would love to hear from you if you are an experienced Room Leader or an enthusiastic Early Years professional ready to take the next step in your career.

You must have:

An NVQ Level 3 qualification in childcare or above
Previous experience of working in an Early Years setting
Good English and numeracy skills
The ability to create safe, happy and stimulating play activities
A supportive, responsive and collaborative approach
Strong communication and leadership skills
A clear commitment to children’s welfare and safeguarding
A good understanding of child protection responsibilities
