We are: Defined by Family Job Title: Nursery Room Leader (Transition room walking - 2 Years) Salary: from £25,500 per annum Contract Type: Full Time, Permanent (40 hrs) Location: 35 Austen Road, Guildford, GU1 3NP Drayton House Day Nursery are seeking a passionate Room Leader to join then in leading the team in their Transition Room for babies who have began walking upto 2 years , with a capacity of 6 children a day in this room it is the perfect role for a new Room Leader to blossom or an experienced Room Leader wanting a change. The nursery has Bertie the dog which the children love to take for a walk in the surrounding local area, a gardening club which supports the children in learning about nature bringing awe and wonder into the world around them and a low turn over of staff. If you would like to come and work with Julie and the team then please apply today Room Leader main duties and responsibilities : Provide stimulating and purposeful experiences, environments, and resources to children, that are appropriate to their age and stage of development. Enhance the all-around daily needs of children, including their physical, intellectual, social, and emotional development. Assist staff in updating the EyLog system and their child learning journals with the highest quality. Promote respect and credibility for this position by leading as a role model with impartiality and consistency. Assist with embedding an effective key person approach to enable children to form secure attachments and identify training or development needs for staff. Maintain accurate records and accounts relating to children and staff on EyMan system and on file. Ensure the safety and wellbeing of every child, staff, parent and visitor at all times. Understand and ensure that the requirements of the statutory framework for the EYFS are met. Duties and responsibilities in this are not exhaustive or restrictive, changes and other duties relevant to this post may be added. Room Leader requirement and skills: Full and relevant Level 3 in Childcare qualification - Essential. Over 1 years' experience working in Early Years - Essential. Over 6 months' experience working in a senior position - Desirable. Sound knowledge of Ofsted expectations to achieve a Good or Outstanding rating - Desirable. Knowledge of the statutory framework for the EYFS and regulatory requirements - Essential. Fluent in written and spoken English - Essential.
