As Third in Charge, you’ll support the leadership team in delivering high standards of care and inspiring the nursery team to create a nurturing, fun-filled space where children can thrive.

What We’re Looking For

• Level 3 Early Years qualification (or equivalent).

• Proven experience in a senior or leadership role within a nursery or early years setting.

• Strong knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework and a passion for high-quality, child-centred care.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build positive relationships with children, families, and colleagues.

• A proactive, enthusiastic, and nurturing approach to leadership and childcare.

• Confidence in supporting and mentoring team members to promote best practices.

Your Responsibilities

• Support the management team in the day-to-day running of the nursery, ensuring the highest standards of care and learning are maintained.

• Act as a role model for the team, delivering engaging, age-appropriate activities that inspire curiosity and growth in line with the EYFS framework.

• Assist in leading the team to create a safe, stimulating, and nurturing environment that fosters positive relationships and builds children’s confidence.

• Monitor and support children’s development, maintaining accurate records and adapting care and activities to meet individual needs.

• Oversee the smooth running of your allocated room and step in as needed to ensure continuity and high-quality care.

• Embrace the nursery’s focus on outdoor learning, promoting exploration and active play in the thoughtfully designed outdoor space.
