Nursing Home Manager

To take overall responsibility for the operational and clinical management of a 50-bedded elderly care home, ensuring the delivery of safe, high-quality, person-centred care in accordance with CQC regulations, company policies, and best practices. The Home Manager will lead, inspire, and develop a dedicated team to provide a nurturing, respectful, and supportive environment for residents and staff alike.

• Leadership & Management:

  • Provide strong leadership to staff, ensuring high levels of performance, morale, and staff retention.

  • Lead the recruitment, induction, supervision, appraisal, and professional development of all team members.

  • Ensure adequate staffing levels to meet the needs of residents.

• Care Quality & Compliance:

  • Ensure that the home meets or exceeds standards set by the CQC and Local Authority.

  • Develop and monitor care plans that are individualised and responsive to residents' needs.

  • Safeguard vulnerable residents and ensure best practice in risk assessment and incident management.

  • Conduct audits and quality assurance reviews regularly to identify areas for improvement.

• Operational Oversight:

  • Maintain accurate records and reports in line with data protection and confidentiality standards.

  • Work collaboratively with external stakeholders including health professionals, CQC inspectors, and the Local Authority.

• Qualified Nurse (RGN/RMN/RNLD) or extensive Registered Manager experience in elderly care (nursing desirable but not essential depending on home type).

• Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care (or equivalent).

• Minimum of 3-5 years' experience in managing a care home or equivalent service.

• Proven track record of improving or maintaining CQC ratings of "Good" or above.

• Strong understanding of safeguarding, clinical governance, and quality improvement frameworks.
