Role: Nurture Teacher - Therapeutic Education Setting

Contract: Full time, permanent

Salary: £30,000 - £44,000 per annum (depending on experience and qualifications)

Long-Term Teachers have a proud, long-standing relationship with a compassionate and innovative specialist school in Somerset. They are looking to recruit a dedicated Nurture Teacher to join a brand new learning centre within the school community. This is a fantastic opportunity for a kind, creative and resilient teacher who is passionate about re-engaging learners through play, care and a trauma-informed approach.

The school supports young people with complex needs, many of whom have faced barriers to learning in mainstream environments. This role sits within the school’s new Nurture Learning Centre, designed to support students through emotional regulation, social development and the rebuilding of trust in education.

About the Role:

• Deliver holistic and engaging lessons across the curriculum for pupils in a small-group nurture environment

• Use play-based learning, creative planning and a responsive teaching approach

• Draw on frameworks such as the Boxall Profile and National Curriculum

• Help pupils develop self-confidence, emotional resilience and positive relationships

• Manage behaviour with empathy and consistency in a trauma-informed framework

• Be part of a collaborative, child-centred team dedicated to whole-child development

Ideal Candidate:

• QTS or equivalent, with a strong background in primary teaching

• A deep understanding of how to re-engage pupils through nurturing, play-based education

• Confident working with children who have social, emotional or behavioural needs

• Skilled in creating personalised and meaningful learning experiences

• A team player who can bring kindness, humour and creativity into every lesson
