Occupational Health Adviser - HYBRID WORKING

  • Contract Type: Permanent
  • Hours: 22.5 hours per week over 3 days
  • Salary: £37,035 - £39,513 per annum (pro-rata)

Join our friendly Occupational Health team in Blackpool!

We are seeking an Occupational Health Nurse Advisor to work within our Occupational Health Service under the guidance of the Senior Occupational Health Advisor. This role involves providing essential advice to management, employees, and Human Resources (HR) regarding fitness to work and recommended adjustments, as well as handling pre-employment screenings, vaccinations, and health surveillance.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Provide a nurse-led service, working under the guidance of the Senior Occupational Health Advisor.
  • Participate in nurse triage to ensure referrals are allocated to the most appropriate health professional.
  • Engage in case management for employees absent due to ill health or those trying to remain in work despite ill health.
  • Conduct health screenings and surveillance as determined by risk assessments and best practice standards.
  • Administer vaccinations in line with risk assessments and Department of Health guidelines.
  • Provide timely management reports to the NMC/legal standards.
  • Maintain comprehensive records in accordance with Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) standards.
  • Contribute to health-related training sessions and health promotion activities.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Registered General Nurse, registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council.
  • Qualification equivalent to a Diploma in a related subject is desirable.
  • Considerable knowledge and understanding of current Health & Safety (H&S) issues and Occupational Health issues in Local Authority settings.
  • Strong organisational skills, ability to manage own workload and work to deadlines.
  • Excellent communication, report writing, and IT skills.
  • Experience in using and interpreting medical/health-related technology such as audiometry, spirometry, and vision testing.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team.
