Hybrid working is available - 3 days from home, 2 days in the office (subject to business needs).

Our client, a leading logistics and supply chain solutions provider, is currently seeking an experienced Ocean Export Clerk with a background in ocean freight forwarding to join their team based in Rainham, East London.

About the Role

Ocean Export Clerk  Key Responsibilities include:

Operational:

• Manage export container movements and coordinate shipments efficiently
• Liaise with international offices to ensure timely and accurate movement of consignments
• Oversee Customs clearance and arrange haulage as required
• Act as the first point of contact for clients, maintaining excellent service standards
• Accurately manage all shipment documentation and meet strict deadlines

Administrative:

• Maintain and update control sheets for full visibility and auditing
• Ensure all systems hold accurate, real-time information

Commercial:

• Provide competitive freight quotations and promote additional services
• Monitor job-file profitability and manage cost/revenue alignment
• Process and confirm invoicing on all relevant shipments

What We're Looking For

• Previous experience in Ocean Freight Forwarding or Logistics
• Strong administrative and organisational skills
• Excellent customer service and communication abilities
• Flexible, proactive approach with high attention to detail
• Ability to work well under pressure and manage competing priorities
• Competency in Microsoft Office and logistics systems
