Ocean Import Operator

Rhenus Logistics' is a fast growing Freight Forwarder looking to invest in our sales team and growth as part of our long term commercial strategy. ​ We are currently seeking an experienced Ocean Import Operator to join our busy Air & Ocean department. The successful candidate will work as part of a collaborative team, handling bookings from both agents and customers. This role involves managing the full ocean import process, including arranging and completing customs clearances, calculating duty/VAT, and ensuring all associated operational procedures are accurately followed.

Main Duties:

• Speaking to customers/agents on a daily basis.

• Receiving bookings from customers / agents.

• Raising files within Rhenus software system.

• Preparation of clearance instructions.

• Speaking to carriers, customers and hauliers.

• Checking vessel arrival dates.

• Maintaining customer spreadsheets where required.

• Ensuring correct documentation is presented / obtained.

• Raising invoices to customers / agents.

• Raising duty / vat invoices.

• File queries.

Skills and Experience :

• Experience in freight Industry – two years minimum.

• Proficient in use of Microsoft Office Package – Word, Excel, Powerpoint, etc

Qualifications:

• GSCE in English and Maths (Grade C and above)
