Our client, Smile Stories is a dental and aesthetics clinic in Bournemouth that is nothing like your old-fashioned dentist. The town’s highest Google-rated, multi-award-winning clinic provides dentistry in a relaxed, modern environment and are looking for a Dental Practice Manager to manage this exciting business.
Role: Dental Practice Manager
Salary: £31,000.00-£40,000.00 Pro Rata
Location: Bournemouth, England
Hours: Part Time or Full Time
Schedule: Monday to Friday, some Saturdays
Role Overview
This is a full-time or part-time on-site role located in Bournemouth for a Dental Clinic Manager. The Dental Clinic Manager will be responsible for leading and managing the daily operations of the clinic. Tasks include overseeing patient care, managing staff, handling financial operations, maintaining inventory, and ensuring compliance with all laws and regulations related to dental services.
Key Roles, Tasks and Responsibilities
· Take overall responsibility for the management for the practice in the key areas of Finance, Personnel, Health and Safety, Stock Control and Clinical Governance.
· To be aware of what is happening in the business in real-time and be able to pivot situations to ensure efficient day-to-day operations.
· Establish, continually review and modify the Non-clinical Systems and Processes. Monitor that the entire team remain accountable for upholding the Practice Policies, Procedures and Systems (both Non-clinical and Clinical).
· Establish, promote and maintain productive working relationships with every member of the team, and foster their relationships with one another.
· Liaise with the Directors on all matters concerning Finance, Administration, Pay and Conditions.
· Supervise and guide all staff day-to-day in the practice, to include:
· Calculate monthly payroll and all associated arrangements (e,g, pensions) for employed staff, and calculate monthly pay schedules for self employed staff.
· Arrange and liaise with other businesses, tradesmen and other service providers.
Experience Required:
Candidate should possess a combination of technical skills, interpersonal abilities, and leadership qualities.

Leadership Skills: Be able to lead and motivate the team. This involves setting clear goals, providing direction, and ensuring that everyone is working towards the same objectives.
Communication Skills: Effective communication is essential in a dental practice, both with patients and within the team. You should be able to communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing.
Organisational Skills: Managing a dental practice involves a lot of moving parts, from scheduling appointments to managing inventory. A good manager should be highly organised and able to keep track of all the details.
Financial Management: Have a good understanding of the financial aspects of running a dental practice, including budgeting, billing, and insurance.
Problem-Solving Skills: In a busy dental practice, problems are bound to arise. You should be able to think on their feet and come up with creative solutions to any issues that arise.
Customer Service Skills: Provide excellent customer service to patients, ensuring that they have a positive experience at the practice.
Team Building Skills: Build a strong team, fostering a positive work environment and encouraging collaboration. Own the HR process.
Empathy: Dealing with patients who may be in pain or anxious about their dental treatment requires a high level of empathy and understanding.
Attention to Detail: You need to be detail-oriented, ensuring that all aspects of the practice are running smoothly.
Time Management: Managing a dental practice involves juggling multiple tasks and priorities. The manager should be able to manage their time effectively and prioritise tasks accordingly. Boots need to be firmly on the ground.
Continuous Learning: The dental industry is constantly evolving, and you should be committed to staying up to date with the latest developments and best practices.
Conflict Resolution Skills: In a busy dental practice, conflicts can arise between team members or with patients. You should be able to handle these conflicts in a constructive and professional manner.
Tech Savvy: With the increasing use of technology in dental practices, you must be comfortable using dental software and other technology tools.
