One to one Teaching Assistant

We are seeking a patient, resilient and caring Teaching Assistant to provide dedicated 1:1 support for a Year 2 pupil with SEND and behavioural needs in a welcoming primary school.
This is a rewarding opportunity for an experienced Teaching Assistant who has a passion for supporting children with additional needs and helping them succeed both academically and emotionally. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the pupil's learning, behaviour and social development throughout the school day.
The Role
As a 1:1 Teaching Assistant, you will:
* Provide individual support to a Year 2 pupil with SEND and behavioural challenges.
* Build a positive and trusting relationship to support engagement and learning.
* Implement behaviour support strategies and follow individual support plans.
* Assist the class teacher in adapting learning activities to meet the pupil's needs.
* Support the pupil's emotional regulation and social development.
* Encourage confidence, independence and positive classroom participation.
* Work closely with teachers, SENDCo, parents and external professionals.
* Maintain accurate records of progress and behaviour where required.
The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for someone who:
* Has previous experience supporting children with SEND in a school setting.
* Has experience managing challenging behaviour and promoting positive outcomes.
* Is calm, patient and resilient when faced with difficult situations.
* Can build strong relationships with pupils, staff and families.
* Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Holds a relevant Teaching Assistant qualification (desirable but not essential).
* Has an enhanced DBS on the Update Service or is willing to obtain one.
