Onsite Operative

LOCATION: Belfast

CONTRACT: Permanent, 40 hours per week

PAY RATE: £13.23 per hour

Role Overview

ABM is seeking a proactive and versatile Onsite Operative to join our team in manufacturing setting. This is a newly created, high-impact role designed to ensure the site’s exterior is maintained to the highest professional standards.

You will be the face of ABM’s exterior presentation, equipped with a dedicated service vehicle and high-end equipment (including reach-and-wash and power washing systems). This role is ideal for a self-motivated individual who enjoys working outdoors, takes pride in site aesthetics, and thrives in a role that offers daily variety.

Key Responsibilities

Your duties will be diverse, ranging from technical cleaning to general site support:

• Window & Glass Maintenance: Utilizing a reach-and-wash system to ensure all ground and mid-level windows remain streak-free and professional.
• Surface Pressure Washing: Operating power washers to clean walkways, entryways, and designated exterior surfaces.
• Signage Care: Cleaning road and Seagate-branded signage to maintain brand visibility (within safe reaching heights).
• Waste & Environment: Performing regular litter picking and assisting with waste management by transporting materials to the central waste area.
• General Handyman/Industrial Tasks: Executing ad-hoc cleaning and minor maintenance tasks to support the facility.
• Defect Reporting: Identifying and reporting maintenance defects or safety hazards to management to be included in site service reports.
• Team Support: Providing flexible backfill support for team absences to ensure seamless service delivery.

Requirements & Skills

• Experience operating power washers and reach-and-wash window cleaning systems is highly preferred.
• Fully cleaning driving license is essential.
• Essential for operating the onsite mobile service van.
• Ability to work independently, identify areas that need attention, and manage your own daily schedule effectively.
• This is an active role involving outdoor work in various weather conditions, manual handling, and the use of industrial cleaning equipment.
• A friendly, professional manner as you will be a visible representative of ABM on the Seagate site.
• A strong understanding of health and safety protocols, particularly regarding cleaning chemicals and equipment.
