About the role

Due to expansion of funds within our Alternatives function as well as the recent launch of our new Real Estate offering, Border to Coast is currently seeking an Operational Due Diligence Manager to join our existing Operational Due Diligence team.

Based in Leeds City Centre, you will be responsible for supporting the Investment function to satisfy Operational Due Diligence requirements in respect of new and existing investments and investment managers.

Border to Coast’s Operational Due Diligence team is responsible for conducting business risk analysis on a range of alternative investment products, including Private Equity, Private Credit, Infrastructure and are looking to expand this across Real Estate fund investments.

You will undertake operational due diligence ("ODD") reviews on new and existing investments and investment managers, utilising third party ODD reports, internal due diligence questionnaires and assessment of underlying policy and procedure documents, to assess the operational processes and risks of alternatives managers and funds.

Analysis will also include background, regulatory and media checks to identify and mitigate reputational, financial crime, anti-money laundering ("AML") and politically exposed persons ("PEPs") risks of existing investments and investment managers, prior to investment and on a periodic basis thereafter.

ODD processes will require feedback and engagement with prospective and existing managers, and the drafting and presentation of ODD reports. You will also contribute to the development of the operational due diligence process and future initiatives.

The role is predominantly supporting the Alternatives and Real Estate teams but may also include other areas of the Investment function where considered appropriate, including Equities and Fixed Income as the scope of the ODD function expands over time.

About You

The successful candidate will need to demonstrate a balance of skills and track record. In particular we are looking for:

· An established Operational Due Diligence professional who has good experience of operating within the investment management, Asset Management or LGPS industry.

· Experience of conducting operational due diligence on

Alternative/Private

Market strategies (Private Equity, Private Credit, Infrastructure) would be highly preferable, in particular Real Estate, but an accomplished Operational Due Diligence Manager working across Public Market strategies, keen to broaden their Asset Class experience, would also be well received.

· A strong communicator with the ability to distil a wide range of often conflicting information in a concise and cohesive manner, with knowledge and understanding of FCA requirements regarding onboarding and KYC information, AML laws and regulations, investment industry compliance and operational best practice.
