Job Description - Operational Trainer

Our client is a leading global manufacturing company within the food and additives industry. Due to continued growth, they are looking to recruit an experienced Operational Trainer to join their busy manufacturing facility in Saffron Walden.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established organisation and play a key role in developing and supporting employees across the manufacturing operation. Working closely with both production and health and safety teams, you will be responsible for delivering training, creating and maintaining SOPs, and driving continuous improvement across the site.

Working Hours

* Monday to Thursday: 8:00am – 5:00pm

* Friday: 7:00am – 4:00pm

The Role

As an Operational Trainer, you will be responsible for ensuring employees are fully trained, competent, and equipped to carry out their roles safely and effectively.

Your responsibilities will include:

* Delivering training and inductions to new employees and agency staff

* Working alongside the Health and Safety team to ensure all training complies with company procedures and site standards

* Creating, reviewing, and updating Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for manufacturing processes and machinery

* Designing, developing, and refreshing training materials and documentation

* Delivering practical, hands-on training across operational processes

* Working closely with production teams to optimise processes and improve efficiency

* Identifying training needs and supporting employee development

* Maintaining accurate training records and ensuring compliance with company procedures

The Successful Candidate Will Have:

* Previous experience within the food or manufacturing industry

* Previous experience in an operational training role within a manufacturing environment

* Previous experience delivering training to new members of staff

* Experience creating SOPs and training documentation

* Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes and production operations

* Excellent communication and presentation skills

* The ability to engage and influence employees at all levels

* A proactive approach to continuous improvement
