Operations Director

Job Description - Operations Director

Operations Manager - South of England

Location: South of England

This is an opportunity to play a pivotal role in shaping the future of specialist neurological care.

We are looking for an experienced, clinically qualified Operations Director to lead our growing Neuro Division across services in Bristol, Kent and South London. This role is ideally suited to someone based in the South East or South West of England who has a proven track record of leading inpatient healthcare services and is excited by the opportunity to help build and transform services within a fast-growing organisation.

Reporting to the Managing Director, this is a unique opportunity to lead the transformation of specialist care services, delivering high-quality clinical care within a modern independent healthcare environment.

You will bring significant operational leadership experience, either as the leader of an inpatient hospital or as an Operations Director with oversight of one or more inpatient hospitals. Alongside your strong clinical background, you will have a deep understanding of delivering high-quality inpatient care and the ability to lead multidisciplinary teams through change and growth.

We're looking for someone who thrives in an ambitious, evolving environment. As we continue to expand our Neuro Division through the development of new services and facilities, you'll play a key role in challenging traditional models of care, driving innovation, and helping redefine what's possible for people living with neurological conditions.

The successful candidate will have significant operational leadership experience within hospitals, ideally in the independent healthcare sector, and a strong understanding of private and insurance-funded healthcare pathways.

Key Responsibilities

* Lead operational strategy and performance across the Neuro Division, specifically focusing on the South.

* Oversee the conversion and development of specialist neurological and spinal care homes into hospital-level services.

* Ensure full compliance with healthcare regulations including Care Quality Commission standards.

* Develop strong relationships with consultants, referring clinicians, and private insurers.

* Drive operational excellence, patient experience, and service growth.

* Support multi-site operations with travel to London and nationally as required.

About You

* Extensive hospital operational leadership experience (e.g. Hospital Director, Divisional Director, or Operations Director).

* Strong knowledge of private healthcare and insurance-funded care pathways.

* Proven experience managing multiple complex healthcare services.

* Strong understanding of hospital governance, quality, and compliance.

* Based in the South of England and willing to travel nationally.

This role offers the opportunity to shape and lead an innovative neurological service within a growing healthcare organisation.

Service Development

* Lead the development and transformation of specialist services.

* Identify opportunities to expand neurological services and improve patient pathways.

* Work closely with clinical leadership to develop innovative care models.

Governance and Compliance

* Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements including Care Quality Commission standards and best practice frameworks.

* Maintain strong quality assurance, risk management, and clinical governance systems

Stakeholder Engagement

* Build strong working relationships with consultants, insurers, and referring clinicians.

* Support partnerships with private healthcare providers and commissioning bodies.

Operational Performance

* Deliver operational efficiency and service growth.

* Monitor key performance indicators relating to patient outcomes, safety, and service performance.

* Lead and develop senior operational teams across the division

Person Specification

Essential

* Senior operational leadership experience within hospital environments.

* Experience within independent healthcare / private hospital sector.

* Strong understanding of insurance-funded healthcare pathways.

* Experience managing complex clinical services or multi-site operations.

* Strong leadership, organisational, and stakeholder management skills

Desirable

* Experience in neurological services, neurorehabilitation, or neuroscience care.

* Experience leading service transformation or hospital development projects.
