Job Description - Operations Manager

Eventus Recruitment are seeking an Operations Manager to join a forward-thinking financial services firm based in Manchester City Centre. This full-time, permanent position offers an exciting opportunity to lead the transformation of the administration function within a dynamic, growth-oriented organisation. The successful candidate will play a key role in aligning the administration team with strategic business objectives, ensuring exceptional client service standards and regulatory compliance. You will benefit from a competitive salary of £50,000 - £60,000 (dependent on experience), excellent company pension, life assurance, critical illness & income protection benefits, performance-related bonuses based on delivery of key objectives and professional development support.

Role Responsibilities

As the Operations Manager, you will take responsibility for driving the efficiency and performance of the administration function. Your daily responsibilities will include:

  • Collaborating with senior management to implement a new administration team structure.
  • Developing clear progression pathways, salary bandings, and role definitions.
  • Designing and implementing appraisal and bonus schemes.
  • Establishing and managing a hybrid working policy.
  • Overseeing recruitment and onboarding for the administration and Technical Adviser Support teams.
  • Conducting skills and knowledge assessments and implementing training plans.
  • Managing workflows, ensuring tasks align with skills and capacity.
  • Monitoring and reporting on business tasks, client reviews, and regulatory compliance.
  • Liaising effectively with Advisers to ensure administrative support meets business requirements.
  • Collaborating with the Process Improvement Manager to streamline processes and technology systems.

Person Specification

The successful Operations Manager will possess the following experience, skills, and attributes:

  • Proven management experience in financial services or another regulated industry.
  • Excellent understanding of workflow management, performance metrics, and process improvement.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop team members.
  • Experience designing and implementing appraisal, training, and reward systems.
  • Competent in leveraging technology to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
