Job Description - Operations Manager

Operations Manager - Manufacturing - Lancashire - Up to £65,000 DOE

About the Company

We have been retained on an exciting Operations Manager role. The business is an established manufacturing business with a fantastic reputation and a great, people-centric culture. This is a site-based leadership role and would suit someone who is ready to take ownership of operational performance, compliance, and continuous improvement.

The successful candidate will have proven leadership capabilities with a hands-on mentoring style and will have experience within manufacturing, warehousing, or production operations.

The production environment is clean, semi-skilled, and focused on converting incoming bulk materials into custom-sized, value-added products. The team values collaboration, trust, and a hands-on, solutions-driven mindset.

Operations Manager - The Rewards

  • Competitive salary dependent on experience

Operations Manager - Requirements and Responsibilities

  • Must have NEBOSH or equivalent H&S qualification
  • Experience within manufacturing, warehousing or production operations
  • Solid lean manufacturing background with a continuous improvement mindset
  • Implementation and improvements of Health, Safety and Welfare plans
  • Responsible for overseeing semi-skilled production processes
  • Lead site-wide continuous improvement initiatives using lean tools
  • Support, develop and mentor the Factory Supervisor and broader operational teams
  • Maintain and manage audits and documentation (internal, HSE, customer/ethical audits)
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to work cross-functionally
  • Maintain responsibility for all customer-facing operational documentation
  • Ensure full compliance with statutory Health & Safety and building regulations (e.g. HASAWA, PUWER, LOLER, RIDDOR)
