Insurance Operations Manager | Fast-Growing Insurance Group | Newly Created Role | Central London | Salary circa £75,000 plus benefits

An ambitious and rapidly expanding insurance business is looking to appoint an experienced Insurance Operations Manager into a newly created and highly influential role.

This is an opportunity to help build and develop the operational infrastructure of a growing insurance platform, supporting businesses operating across the MGA, insurance intermediary and specialist broking markets.

Working closely with senior leadership, portfolio company executives and key stakeholders, the successful candidate will help create consistent, scalable and commercially effective operational frameworks across the group.

Previous experience within the insurance industry is essential for this position. Applications without relevant insurance operations experience cannot be considered.

The Role

The Insurance Operations Manager will support the development and management of the operational infrastructure required to facilitate the continued growth of the group and its portfolio companies.

Key responsibilities will include:

* Designing and implementing operational frameworks across multiple insurance businesses

* Establishing consistent processes across underwriting, broking, compliance and delegated authority operations

* Ensuring the operational model can scale as new businesses are launched, acquired or integrated

* Supporting the operational integration of MGAs, brokers and specialist insurance intermediaries

* Aligning systems, governance, reporting and operational standards across the wider platform

* Supporting operational due diligence on potential acquisitions and new business opportunities

* Overseeing the implementation and optimisation of underwriting platforms, delegated authority systems and reporting infrastructure

* Improving digital workflows and identifying opportunities for operational automation

* Ensuring businesses operate within appropriate Lloyd’s, London Market and regulatory frameworks

* Developing consistent operational risk management and governance processes

* Producing clear and reliable operational reporting for senior leadership, boards and investors

* Working closely with CEOs, underwriting leaders and senior stakeholders across a number of independently managed businesses

The Person

We are looking for an established insurance operations professional with experience of developing processes, implementing operational strategy and supporting business growth.

To be considered, you must have:

* Significant operations experience gained specifically within the insurance industry

* Experience working within an MGA, London Market insurer, wholesale broker, insurance intermediary or delegated authority environment

* A strong understanding of delegated authority arrangements and London Market processes

* Knowledge of underwriting platforms, bordereaux production, binder management and insurance reporting requirements

* Experience of developing, improving or implementing operational processes within an insurance business

You will also ideally demonstrate:

* Experience of scaling an insurance business, integrating acquisitions or implementing new operational infrastructure

* The ability to introduce structure, controls and governance without restricting commercial growth

* Strong stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to work closely with senior executives, boards and investors

* A strategic mindset combined with strong attention to detail and operational discipline

* The ability to work across multiple businesses, priorities and projects

* A comfortable and adaptable approach to working within an entrepreneurial and fast-paced environment

This role would suit an experienced Insurance Operations Manager, Senior Operations Manager or developing Head of Operations who is looking to take ownership of a newly created function and play a central role in the continued development of a growing insurance group.

The salary is expected to be circa £75,000, depending on experience, alongside a comprehensive benefits package and significant longer-term development opportunities.
