Operations Manager - Hard FM

Location: Chester, Cheshire
Salary: £38,000-£42,000
Hours: Monday-Friday
Contract: Full-time, Permanent

We are recruiting for an experienced Operations Manager to oversee Hard FM maintenance across a portfolio of commercial properties in Chester and the surrounding areas.

This is an excellent opportunity for a technically experienced manager with a mechanical or electrical engineering background to join an established facilities management provider.

Duties

* Oversee planned and reactive maintenance across multiple sites.

* Manage engineering teams, contractors and subcontractors.

* Ensure statutory compliance across mechanical and electrical building services.

* Monitor PPM schedules, reactive works, SLAs and KPIs.

* Manage Legionella, asbestos and general health and safety compliance.

* Oversee risk assessments, method statements and safe working procedures.

* Use CAFM systems to monitor maintenance performance.

* Coordinate minor works, repairs and improvement projects.

* Conduct site inspections and maintain strong client relationships.

* Ensure maintenance is delivered safely, efficiently and to contractual standards.

Requirements

* HNC or equivalent qualification in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.

* Previous experience in Hard FM operations or technical engineering management.

* Strong understanding of commercial mechanical and electrical systems.

* Experience managing engineering teams and specialist contractors.

* Knowledge of PPMs, reactive maintenance and statutory compliance.

* Familiarity with CAFM systems, RAMS, Legionella and asbestos management.

* Strong organisational and client-facing skills.

* Full UK driving licence.

* Ability to satisfy relevant background and pre-employment checks.

Salary & Benefits

* £38,000–£42,000 basic salary.
