£40,000 per annum

50 hours per week

Our client are looking for an Operations Manager to join their team at their site in Coleshill, Birmingham. The successful candidate will have similar previous experience, or transferable skills in a similar role, within Logistics, Supply Chain and/or Transport.

Main Duties/Responsibilities:

A 'can-do' attitude and a willingness to take on significant challenges

Lead and develop the operation team. Support and encourage the team to manage their own learning, creating and developing a team working environment

Act as a key operations leader

Build relationships with Clients, through constant contact and advocacy by offering advice, solutions, and proactive issue management

Recruit, train and supervise drivers to ensure compliance with company policies and safety regulations

Develop and implement plans that will lead to improvement in company profit

Maintain an open dialogue with other units' managers so as to organise activities that will enhance the company's general performance

Oversee the order process to maintain standard KPI's

Data analysis and Oversight of the schedule and operations

Ensuring continuous review and improvements of operational processes to ensure accuracy, standards, and compliance

Respond to more complex inquiries and complaints about transit and operational issues

Develop a best-in-class team and workplace culture and effectively manage performance and talent development

Deliver upon contract service level agreements, expectations and value proposition

Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements for vehicle safety and maintenance

Monitor traffic conditions and adjust routes as necessary to avoid delays and optimize delivery schedules

Address driver concerns and resolve any issues of conflicts that may arise during operations

Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide feedback to drivers to improve performance and productivity

Probation, PIP, review, assisting HR and other department

Develop and implement operational plans and strategies to meet company objectives and targets

Any other task as mentioned by management

Technical Skills:

Knowledge of the operations of transport, freight, logistics and warehouse

Strong understanding of logistics distribution, warehousing practices

Proficiency in Microsoft Office application

Ability to manage comprehensive reviews

Experience in budge forecasts and projections

Other requirements:

Familiarise yourself with the company Health, Welfare and Safety policy

Report near misses, accidents and safety concerns to a manager so that they can be properly addressed

Adhere to the Good Distribution Practice (GDP) regulations

Familiarise yourself with the company Security Policy
