Operations Manager (Fire and Flood)

My client are a leading provider of fire and flood damage restoration services. With a reputation for rapid response, technical excellence, and customer care, we help residential and commercial clients recover and rebuild after disaster strikes. We are looking for an experienced Operations Manager to oversee daily field operations, manage teams, and ensure timely, high-quality restoration outcomes.

Position Summary:

The Operations Manager is responsible for the overall coordination of fire and flood restoration projects, ensuring operational efficiency, safety, and customer satisfaction. This role involves managing field technicians, overseeing project timelines, maintaining compliance with industry regulations, and driving continuous improvement across service delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

• Project Oversight: Manage day-to-day operations of fire and flood restoration jobs from initiation to completion.
• Team Management: Supervise and schedule restoration crews, subcontractors, and field staff.
• Client Liaison: Act as the main point of contact for clients, insurance companies, and loss adjusters.
• Compliance & Safety: Ensure all work is carried out according to health and safety standards, industry best practices, and regulatory guidelines.
• Resource Planning: Allocate labour, equipment, and materials to ensure maximum productivity and cost efficiency.
• Quality Control: Conduct site visits and inspections to ensure service quality and compliance with job specs.
• Reporting: Maintain accurate records of projects, prepare progress reports, and contribute to financial forecasting and budgeting.
• Process Improvement: Identify and implement process enhancements to improve response times, service quality, and operational workflows.
• Training & Development: Support the onboarding and continued professional development of field and office personnel.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Proven experience (3+ years) in a similar operations or project management role, ideally within the fire/flood restoration, disaster recovery, or construction industry.
• Strong knowledge of restoration techniques, drying technologies, and relevant health and safety standards (e.g., IICRC certifications a plus).
• Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously under pressure.
• Proficient with job management software, MS Office Suite, and reporting tools.
• Valid UK driving license (if applicable to your location).
